Ping messages are special types of message used to ping the other end of a connection to establish that it is still there and also to measure latency. When one end of a connection sends a ping message it is the responsibility of the other end to reflect it back as soon as it is received.

There are three types of ping message:

    • Server Ping – sent from Client to Diffusion Server.
    • Client Ping – sent from a Diffusion Publisher to a specified Client.
    • System Ping – sent from Diffusion Server to all Clients.

More information about the ping message types can be found in the Diffusion documentation at the following link.
